Description

The 2004 Yamaha Banshee (YFZ350) represents one of the final, most refined years of a true legend in the ATV world. Renowned for its terrifying speed and iconic sound, the 2004 model features the legendary 347cc, liquid-cooled, 2-stroke parallel-twin engine derived from the RZ350 motorcycle. This powerplant, fed by dual 26mm Mikuni carburetors, offers a unique powerband designed for high-RPM acceleration, capable of exceeding 70 mph in stock condition. 2004 Yamaha Banshee
Weighing in at a nimble 386 lbs (dry weight), the 2004 Banshee is engineered for sport performance, featuring a 6-speed manual transmission, 4×2 drivetrain, and no reverse gear. Its chassis is suspended by an independent double-wishbone front suspension offering 9.1 inches of travel, and a rear swingarm with 8.7 inches of travel, providing excellent handling on dunes and open trails. The braking system utilizes dual hydraulic discs up front and a single hydraulic disc in the rear for solid stopping power.
The 2004 model year, which also included a Limited Edition (LE) variant, boasts dual 35W halogen headlights that give it a “devilish eye” look. It is recognized for its massive aftermarket support, allowing riders to easily modify the machine for even higher performance. Due to its 2-stroke nature, the Banshee is known for being a high-maintenance machine, often requiring a premix of gas and oil, but it remains a favorite for its unmatched adrenaline-driven riding experience. As one of the last few 2-stroke quads produced before emissions regulations ended its era, the 2004 Banshee is a highly coveted, “screaming” machine that defines 1980s-2000s sport ATV design.
